The Windows 10 Calculator crash instances reported by users are that the Calculator wouldn’t open at all, or the Calculator would crash as soon as it opens. Some users also reported that other default Windows 10 apps, such as Calendar, Text Editor, etc. Were not opening or working along with Calculator. I used the windows 10 decrapifier on a bunch of computers. I guess it removed too much stuff because the windows calculator is gone. Did not realize it and so now I have about 250 computers deployed without it. Additionally the microsoft store is gone so can do it that way. Anyone know how to reinstall it? Yeah, via the Microsoft Store:-).

The Windows Classic Calculator is for those that never got the hang of the new Windows 10 calculator, or were too used to the old one. To install the program, open the .zip file and run the .exe installer inside. Once you’re done, hit the Windows key and you’ll find it under the recently added programs category. Make sure you drag and drop it to your desktop so you don’t lose it!

Google It

If you’re always on the web like I am, then you might find the quickest way is just to drop question into Google search. If you have Google as your default search engine, then you can put the expression into the search bar at the top of the browser and have it automatically evaluated in the search result.

It lacks the functionality to save numbers in the calculator’s memory, but it’s a quick and easy way to get arithmetic done.

If you need to quickly plot a graph, Geogebra is the perfect lightweight program to see what a function looks like.

You can also add sliders for variables as well as include lines, circles and distance measurements to help you visualize the 2D space.

If you want to venture even further into Geogebra’s functions, you’ll also find tracing, polygons, conics and function transformations. All of these are quite helpful in visualizing more complex mathematical concepts.

If you just need to get some values out of a function, then you can calculate the outputs on the sidebar in function notation, such as by typing f(30).

The app is free, fast and lightweight, and saves you from pulling out a physical graphing calculator.

Switch the Windows Calculator’s Mode

If you’re looking to switch out your Windows calculator because it doesn’t offer enough functionality, don’t forget that you can switch it to scientific or programmer mode.

On scientific mode, you’ll find the trigonometric functions, logarithms, fractions and roots.

The classic app loaded faster, and was more useful for mouse and keyboard users. Here is how to get the classic calculator back in Windows 10 Creators Update.

To get the app, follow the steps below.

To download the classic Calculator for Windows 10 Creators Update, point your browser to the following page:

Run the installer. It will look like this:

Follow its steps. After it finishes, you will find the good old Calculator app shortcut in the Start menu:

After you launch it, you will get the familiar application:

You are done. The Calculator app will be revived completely, e.g. you will be able to launch it as 'calc.exe' from the Run dialog or from the taskbar search box or from Cortana. It will have the same interface language as your operating system. If you will decide to revert to the Modern Calculator app, just uninstall the Old Calculator from the Settings -> Apps - > Apps & features. See the following screenshot:

The classic calculator app will 'survive' after sfc /scannow, Windows Update and so on. No system files will be replaced!
